NAtional Technical Investigators' Association
The National Technical Investigators. Association is a non-profit law enforcement educational association. The purpose of NATIA is to further knowledge, develop skills and promote fellowship between those law enforcement and intelligence professionals who support their agencies. and departments. technical surveillance, tactical operations, and forensic activities.
NATIA is composed of over 2,000 law enforcement, intelligence officers, and support staff, who provide the technical operations, surveillance activities, and scientific support for hundreds of federal, state, and local agencies across the United States and Canada. Each year we play host to a growing number of representatives from foreign law enforcement agencies. This is accomplished through a blend of regional and national programs. We hold both regional meetings and an annual national conference where we provide training in new technologies, discuss major developments, conduct workshops, and sponsor a technology exhibition. A unique feature of NATIA is that participation by exhibitor is very restricted to the best technology available.
Membership is restricted to full time employees of Law Enforcement Agencies who are actively engaged in technical surveillance, communications, and specialized support of law enforcement or intelligence activities. These individuals must represent Municipal, County, State, Federal and Military involved in the application of electronic surveillance technologies. Credentials are required at all NATIA regional and national meetings.
SETIA December 2005 Training Conference
Although training got off to a late start in the Southeast (our fall conference didn't take place until December) we've had a tremendously successful conference year. The December conference was without a doubt one of the largest and most successful ever, with over 20 technology exhibitors and nearly 40 members in attendance. The conference was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel on International Drive in Orlando, FL. This was an ideal location with fantastic dining and night-life opportunities only a short walk from the hotel. The training topic, .Digital Image and Audio Capture and Processing,. was a huge hit with our members. The quality of training by exhibitors and members alike was outstanding. Our special guest, The Honorable Judge Israel Reyes, 11th Circuit Court of Florida, provided a tremendously useful overview regarding the admissibility of digital evidence in court.
Our next training conference will cover .Internet Tips and Tools for Techs.. Don.t miss this valuable training opportunity. For more information contact our chapter officers at email@example.com We look forward to seeing you!
